If you do decide to port your existing phone number, be sure to follow Clark’s advice to avoid the most common mistake when switching cell phone service providers. When you do, you’ll need the account number and PIN associated with your current cell phone service account. However, if you want to keep your same number, you’ll have to talk to a customer service representative in order to get it transferred. Expect an activation fee of $35 to set up a new line. However you get your new phone, you’ll still have to activate the service once you take it out of the box. You can also shop online at Amazon.įinally, you can simply call Lively at (866) 783-5111 to order a device. In my area, Walgreens, Best Buy and Rite Aid sold Lively devices. If you’d rather purchase your phone in-store, you can use Lively’s store locator to enter your current location and select which device(s) you’re shopping for. There, you can choose between Jitterbug phones and medical alert devices. You can buy a device online by visiting Lively’s website and clicking “Products” at the top of the screen. If you haven’t already purchased a Jitterbug phone or medical alert device, you can purchase one online, over the phone or in a store near you. The best way to activate a Jitterbug phone (or any Lively service) is by calling Lively at (866) 783-5111. Keep in mind that Lively’s Jitterbug Smart3 phone does not support 5G service, so expect average 4G/LTE data speeds in areas with coverage. Speeds will be restored at the beginning of your next billing cycle. With the unlimited plan, data speeds will reduce to 128kbps if you exceed 20GB of data during a billing cycle. If you have a limited data plan, you’ll be charged 10 cents per megabyte if you use more than your allotted amount of data. Data plans aren’t available for the Jitterbug Flip2. This will allow you to get online with your phone and browse the web, check email, watch videos and more. If you opt for a Jitterbug Smart3, you’ll also need to add a data plan. Unlimited Talk & Text: $19.99 per month for unlimited minutes and texts.Value Talk & Text: $14.99 per month for 300 minutes plus 10 cents per text. When it comes to the actual phone plans, Lively offers two different talk and text plans available for the Jitterbug Flip2 and the Jitterbug Smart3: Unfortunately, there is an activation fee of $35 to establish a new line of service with Lively. There are no contracts required and no cancellation fees. “Prepaid” simply means you pay your bill before you use the phone’s service instead of after 30 days. However, prepaid and postpaid plans aren’t really all that different these days. Unlike many other MVNOs, Lively offers postpaid phone plans instead of prepaid. I’ve also compared Lively to other available carriers and plans to help you determine whether you should make the switch. I checked out the details of Lively’s plans, coverage, Jitterbug phone selection and more. However, there are additional fees for activating a new line, adding mobile data to your plan or adding a Lively Health & Safety package. Jitterbug phones run on Lively’s postpaid cellular service that starts as low as $14.99 per month. Lively provides senior-focused products and services including Jitterbug phones, medical alert devices and more. Lively is a postpaid wireless carrier that offers service on Verizon Wireless ’ network. What To Know Before You Sign Up for Lively In this article, I’ll take a closer look at Lively’s plans and pricing, what you can expect from a Jitterbug phone, and how to get started. If you’ve been shopping for cheaper cell phone service or simpler cell phones that are especially designed for seniors, you may have come across Lively: the phone service provider that offers Jitterbug phones.

Understanding the Technology of Image Optimization You can either opt for online tools, that help you upload 20 images at once and optimize them simultaneously or add the plug-ins to your WordPress website. The smaller the image size, the better the loading speed of your site. Image compressors help reduce the size of images before uploading them on your websites. Heavy images are going to slow down your website or blog and thus image compressors are the true savior. The reason that your website is taking forever to load is the images that you have used. Google bots screen and rank websites based on many factors, one of them being the loading time, if it takes longer for your website to load, it is going to affect your website’s ranking. The ideal load time of a website is between 2-5 seconds and yet if it takes more than 2 seconds the bounce rate is higher. There are zillions of websites and if your websites take time to load, well, the visitor is going to close your website and move on to the next one. This aligns with the silver knights directions in the dungon, and also the little symbol of circles found near one of the keys. The lower right clock is at 10.30 (facing diagonally up and left). Full Solution: The lower left clock is at 3 (facing right). I didn't have any problems, but if this is indeed part of the puzzle, it may not have been a glitch at all, and it could have been the order the OP performed. As best I can tell, that may somehow indicate the order. You may also try reversing this order, as that aligns with the way the knights face. If you follow the line, top clock first, then the right clock, then the left clock. That symbol is 3 circles with a line passing through all 3. There's a tiny symbol on the floor next to one of the keys in the dungeon. Also, there may be an order you need to perform this in. Match the upper clock time with the upper knight. And just for good measure, if that doesn't seem to work: The knights are in a similar position relative to each clock in the dungeon map. Align the clock hands with the directions each knight facesĤ. in one of the rooms are 3 silver suits of armor. That should be enough, but if you can't get it. That hint, found inside the dungeon, says : "The Silver Knights know what time it is"ģ. There is very specific hint for this puzzle.Ģ. For those that are stuck on this puzzle though, and aren't sure they got the right clock times, It's not random:ġ. Either this glitch needs to be resolved or they need to update the dungeon and make the answer to the clocks even clearer.īummer about your glitch. This would not be a big deal if it was obvious that my game was glitched and I needed to reboot it, but because the puzzle is so vague it is extremely frustrating that we can run into a glitch where the clocks don't work and we don't even know it. It wasn't until I decided to just reboot the entire game to check one last time that the puzzle finally worked. The block connected to the clock puzzle was still there and it never left. Even though I kept entering in the correct times on the clocks, even after looking it up to double check that I got it right, nothing happened. Based off clues about the silver knights and strange markings on the floors that matched up with the clocks, I actually figured out the correct time for each clock without even knowing it! Turns out I had figured out the puzzle, but it was pointless because my game was glitched for some reason. I spents hours, HOURS, stuck in this dungeon because I couldn't get the clocks to work. To complete the dungeon we have to set each clock to a specific time, but we are never given a straight answer as to what the exact times are, so it's hard to tell if we've done it right or wrong based off a vague clue. The Syncope also has many riddles hidden in it, the most important ones being about the three clocks in there. In the Dream World there is a dungeon called the Syncope where we have to primarily rely on our Dynamite to progress through. Cafe Pascal, owned by siblings Hosep, Jannet, and Arman Seropian, is beloved for its creative baked goods like saffron brioche with black currant and raspberry filling. You would be hard-pressed to find a café in Sweden that doesn’t serve them,” says Anna Brones. “The most iconic fika item is the cinnamon or cardamom bun. While a cup of coffee is an obvious component of the ritual (fika literally translates as coffee), it almost always includes a snack of some kind. “ a moment when you leave whatever you do and sit down for a coffee (or tea) somewhere else-alone or with others.”-Johanna Kindvall It’s a moment when you focus on something else.” In our March/April issue, we took a photographic tour of Stockholm’s current coffee scene and spoke with cafe owners, bakers and coffee roasters about what fika means today. “It’s a moment when you leave whatever you do and sit down for a coffee (or tea) somewhere else-alone or with others. Together with writer Anna Brones, Kindvall released the book Fika: The Art of the Swedish Coffee Break. “A fika is not the same as grabbing a cup of coffee on the go, or having one at your work desk,” says Johanna Kindvall, an illustrator who splits her time between her native Sweden and Brooklyn. It is both a celebration and a respite-a chance to catch up with friends, family or co-workers as well as a moment to take pause and simply relax. In few places is this more fully embraced than Sweden, where the long-held tradition of fika remains part of the modern coffee culture. arrow arrowĪ coffee break can be so much more than a dose of caffeine. You will probably get the best results with manual settings for infinite focal length. Make sure that you remove all lens filters, as they may distort images. Wider angle lenses are usually more versatile in low-light settings, but longer lenses give you different options for compositions. Note that shutter speeds of above 15 seconds will result in slight star movement. Higher ISO settings will allow you to capture faster exposures but may also result in grainier images, for example. The Northern Lights are a spectacular sightĭifferent combinations may give very different results. As a rule of thumb, ISO settings between 8, aperture between f/2.8 and f/5.6, and shutter speed at between 15 seconds and 30 seconds have proven effective. There is no single setting for your camera that ensures great captures, but if you have manual options, you are probably best served with experimenting with various combinations of ISO, aperture, and exposure settings. If you don't have a cable release, set your camera's self-timer to two or ten seconds' shutter delay, if available. HOW TO TAKE A PHOTO OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTSĪs far as equipment goes, the most important thing you can bring is a tripod and a cable release to avoid the dreaded shaken-photo syndrome. Keep in mind that hunting for the northern lights sometimes takes a lot of patience, but those who wait are often greatly rewarded. If you see the green arc, you have a good chance of seeing them move. The best way to find the Polar star is to find the constellation Ursa Major or Big Bear, which points to the Polar star. The best guide for orientation on a starry night is the Polar star that shines in the true north direction from the Earth. When the activity is beginning, usually a green arc appears towards the north. However, the activity is usually strongest around midnight and a few hours before and after. The northern lights can appear any time of the day or night, all year round. If clouds are in your favor, the second criterion is solar wind activity above normal. You can always check weather conditions, cloud coverage and Aurora activity on the Icelandic Met Office Website and also on the website Auroraforecast.is If the weather cooperates, you are already halfway there. If you leave the lights of the city behind, you can see much more of our universe with the naked eye.You need dark, clear skies and sightings are greatly improved outside populated areas HOW TO SPOT THE NORTHERN LIGHTS - PATIENCE IS THE KEYįirst things first: You need darkness and clear skies, or at least openings in the cloud cover, preferably towards North. Light pollution obscures the night sky in more than half of Europe. And even if the Auroras don´t dance, experiencing the starry, limitless sky can make you reconnect with the universe. In “the blue hour” at twilight, the snowy landscape is bathed in a glassy, deep blue colour. On clear days, you can see beautiful sunset colours in the south while the sky to the north is a deep midnight blue. It’s like a celestial ballet of light dancing across the night sky, with a colour palette of green, blue, and sometimes even pink and violet.īut even though you can’t take the lights for granted – it is, after all, a natural phenomenon, just like the weather – you are still guaranteed to experience magical light in Northern Norway all through the polar night. The lights, which are also called aurora borealis, show up at night when the sky is dark. It is created from a collision between electrically charged particles from the sun that enter the atmosphere of the earth. On a very basic level, the phenomenon is quite simple to explain. Or maybe you’ve joined a northern lights safari and get to eat your meal in a traditional lavvo? Afterwards, you can relax in top-notch hotels and eat incredible local food. This means that in addition to hunting for the northern lights, you can go winter fishing, hiking, skiing, and dog sledding, experience the Sami culture, or join a whale or wildlife safari. Our bold claim is that this part of Norway, with its multiple islands, deep fjords and steep mountains, is among the worlds most beautiful and interesting places to see the northern lights.Īs hundreds of thousands of people live in this huge geographical area, the region of Northern Norway has everything from cities with a lively night scene and great museums to small fishing villages and vast, tranquil spaces without light pollution. Between late September and late March, Northern Norway is dark from early afternoon until late morning, and the northern lights frequently soar across the sky. It seems to me that, in addition to fixing this loss of function for substitution groups, using a shared resource set could also speed up things when an XML document uses multiple schemas that potentially reference each other through includes/imports/redefines. Thus the solution appears to require some sort of state sharing to save and share a common resource set for all XSD models used by the CM document manager for the current editor instance. The XSD infoset model will only populate the substitution groups information properly when all schemas that refer to each other are loaded in the same resource set. This works fine for most schemas but breaks down when substitution groups are used. Building on this assumption, the XSD EMF infoset model for each schema is loaded in its own EMF resource set. The CM document framework seems to assume that the CM documents created for each referenced schema are independent of each other. This problem appears to be caused by the way the XSD models that back the CM documents are being loaded. The commercial Oxygen XML editor handles it without a problem. IntelliJ had the same symptom and fixed it in a recent release: The problem is due to the use of substitutionGroups in the XML schema. On September 23, 2008, coinciding with the announcement of the first commercial Android device, Google announced that a Google Maps app had been released for its Android operating system. By triangulating the different signal strengths from cell transmitters and then using their location property (retrieved from the database), My Location determines the user's current location. The software looks up the location of the cell site using a database of known wireless networks and sites. It featured a beta version of a "My Location" feature, which uses the GPS / Assisted GPS location of the mobile device, if available, supplemented by determining the nearest wireless networks and cell sites. On November 28, 2007, Google Maps for Mobile 2.0 was released. In September 2004, Google acquired ZipDash, a company that provided realtime traffic analysis. In the same month, Google acquired Keyhole, a geospatial data visualization company (with investment from the CIA), whose marquee application suite, Earth Viewer, emerged as the highly successful Google Earth application in 2005 while other aspects of its core technology were integrated into Google Maps. where it transformed into the web application Google Maps. In October 2004, the company was acquired by Google Inc. It was first designed to be separately downloaded by users, but the company later pitched the idea for a purely Web-based product to Google management, changing the method of distribution. Google Maps first started as a C++ program designed by two Danish brothers, Lars and Jens Eilstrup Rasmussen, and Noel Gordon and Stephen Ma, at Sydney-based Where 2 Technologies. In 2017, the app was reported to have two billion users on Android, along with several other Google services including YouTube, Chrome, Gmail, Search, and Google Play. By 2013, it was found to be the world's most popular smartphone app, with over 54% of global smartphone owners using it. Google Maps for Android and iOS devices was released in September 2008 and features GPS turn-by-turn navigation along with dedicated parking assistance features. It is still possible to switch back to the 2D map in the settings. In August 2018, the desktop version of Google Maps was updated to show a 3D globe. Google Maps previously used a variant of the Mercator projection, and therefore could not accurately show areas around the poles. Much of the available satellite imagery is no more than three years old and is updated on a regular basis, according to a 2011 report. Google Maps' satellite view is a "top-down" or bird's-eye view most of the high-resolution imagery of cities is aerial photography taken from aircraft flying at 800 to 1,500 feet (240 to 460 m), while most other imagery is from satellites. However, crowdsourced contributions to Google Maps were not discontinued as the company announced those features would be transferred to the Google Local Guides program. Google Map Maker allowed users to collaboratively expand and update the service's mapping worldwide but was discontinued from March 2017. Google Maps offers an API that allows maps to be embedded on third-party websites, and offers a locator for businesses and other organizations in numerous countries around the world. The service's front end utilizes JavaScript, XML, and Ajax. After additional acquisitions of a geospatial data visualization company and a real-time traffic analyzer, Google Maps was launched in February 2005. In October 2004, the company was acquired by Google, which converted it into a web application. Google Maps began as a C++ desktop program developed by brothers Lars and Jens Rasmussen at Where 2 Technologies. As of 2020, Google Maps was being used by over one billion people every month around the world. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360° interactive panoramic views of streets ( Street View), real-time traffic conditions, and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bike, air (in beta) and public transportation. Google Maps is a web mapping platform and consumer application offered by Google. C++ (back-end), JavaScript, XML, Ajax (UI) |
